Why I’m Starting Over
It's been a while—over two years to be exact.
When I started this newsletter, it was called Overthoughts. At the time, the name fit perfectly—I was always in my head, overanalysing every path ahead of me.
But a lot has changed since then.
In 2020, I started creating content online while working as a dentist. Two years later, I left dentistry and joined a startup in the creator economy space. I loved it (and still do), but I was exhausted from constantly creating, and I began to wonder if the purpose of my work felt meaningful enough to me. Seeking change, I left the startup to go freelance, hoping more autonomy over my time would help. I even joined a YouTube accelerator programme, thinking that maybe becoming a full-time creator might be the answer—but that niggling feeling remained. Then I became a mother, and it felt like the perfect time to step away from everything.
I had intended to return to YouTube and this newsletter not long after my daughter was born—I even posted one video—but I wasn't quite ready. I needed time to reflect and figure out what I wanted to do differently.
Through that process, I realised that Overthoughts no longer felt right. It captured the struggle, but not the growth that followed. Beneath the overthinking was something deeper: a process of untangling and letting go—of doubts, expectations, and identities that no longer fit.
That's why Overthoughts is now Unravelled.
Because my journey has been about unravelling everything I thought I should be to discover who I am.
Recently, that journey has brought me back to dentistry in a way I never could have imagined—not as a dentist, but as someone building a value-led business that reflects my experiences, expertise, and values. For the first time, everything in my life feels aligned in a way that makes sense.
And this newsletter is about sharing that journey, too.
If you've ever felt stuck, uncertain, or out of alignment, this space is for you.
Why Unravelling Matters
We live in a world that tells us we need to have everything figured out—a clear path, a perfect plan, and consistent progress forward.
But what if moving forward isn't about having all the answers? What if it's about letting go?
Letting go of expectations. Letting go of identities that no longer fit. Letting go of the idea that success looks the same for everyone.
For me, unravelling meant walking away from a career I'd spent years building. It meant stepping into uncertainty, starting over, and allowing myself to experiment.
It meant starting a YouTube channel, joining a startup, becoming a mother, and ultimately finding my way back to dentistry—but in a completely new way: as someone creating something meaningful in the field.
Each step was messy, non-linear, and often uncomfortable. But every step brought me closer to alignment.
What You Can Expect
Through Unravelled, I'll share:
Reflections and insights: Stories and inspiration to help you untangle societal expectations and build a life aligned with your values
Mindset shifts and action steps: Ideas and practical guidance to navigate uncertainty and break free from "shoulds"
Weekly challenges: Small, actionable steps to help you move closer to your authentic path
Unravelled is about creating space for what truly aligns with who you are, letting go of what doesn't, and crafting a life and career that feels authentic.
If that resonates with you, I'm so glad you're here.
A Fresh Start
To all the readers who've been with me since Overthoughts, thank you. Your support has meant the world to me. If Unravelled isn't what you're looking for, I completely understand. There's an option to unsubscribe at the bottom of this email—no hard feelings.
But if you're ready to explore what it means to live in alignment, if you're curious about how to let go of what's holding you back and step into what's possible, then I hope you'll stay.
And if you've been following my YouTube journey, don't worry, I'm not abandoning it. Building a business independent of my creator journey has rekindled my creative spark and given me the freedom to make videos out of love, not necessity. I'll be posting my first video this Sunday!
Thank you for being part of this journey. I'm excited to see where it takes us.
With gratitude,
